Simcrypted Security

Privacy and Security is in our DNA

1. Introduction

Phone numbers were never designed to be the piece of data that links together with your entire online life. They were – rather obviously – designed as a communication tool. Under data protection laws, including the EU’s GDPR, a mobile phone number can be classed as a piece of personal data that can identify a person.

Since 2021, Simcrypted is sharing its specifically designed in-app defence layer with governments and enterprises around the globe. This is all done without replacing your current SIM card or personal phone number. There are no apps required,  no downloads and no emails.

What makes Simcrypted secure?

Simcrypted generates encrypted local and international phone numbers unconnected to any of your personal details. They are purposely designed to work across some of the worlds largest messaging apps such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, WeChat, Clubhouse, and more without the inherent risks your personal mobile number brings. By using Simcrypted you can stop sharing your personal number, which helps protect you against Big Tech, fraud and hacks, the miss-selling of your private information, unwanted intrusion, and much more.

How it works?

Simcrypted is primarily designed to be used across your social messaging apps so you can remove your personal number from view which puts a barrier between you and potential malpractice, all with the knowledge that your Simcrypted number is completely detached from your personal data and info.

Simcrypted credit card payments run through Stripe. Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry.  All card numbers are encrypted at rest with AES-256. Decryption keys are stored on separate machines. None of Stripe’s internal servers and daemons can obtain plaintext card numbers but can request that cards are sent to a service provider on a static allowlist. Stripe’s infrastructure for storing, decrypting, and transmitting card numbers runs in a separate hosting environment, and doesn’t share any credentials with Stripe’s primary services (API, website, etc.). We do not store any payment information nor any credit card numbers on our website. Your always welcome to pay Via prepaid debit cards and we also accept cryptocurrency if it makes you feel safer.

The state-of-the-art data centers include biometric access control. Authorized staff must pass two-factor authentication (2FA) a minimum of two (2) times to access data center floors. All visitors and contractors are required to present identification and are signed in and continually escorted by authorized staff. These facilities are designed to withstand adverse weather and other reasonably predictable natural conditions. Each data center has redundant electrical power systems that are available twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week.

No, that is impossible, All messages sent using a Simcrypted number within WhatsApp or Signal and all other messaging apps are protected by their E2E encryption. Simcrypted is primarily used for verification purposes, with no in-app data sharing.

Great question. There are a few things at play here, firstly the numbers we store are fully encrypted. If our database was breached or hijacked, they would face considerable hurdles trying to decrypt thousands of numbers one by one, which is highly time-consuming when they have no clue to whom each number belongs, and neither do we, for that matter.

Additionally, altering routing would serve little purpose other than to simply annoy a user. All messages sent using a Simcrypted number within Whatsapp or Signal are protected by their E2E encryption. Simvacy is primarily used for verification purposes, with no in-app data sharing.

Secondly, to make things much more complex, we’ve added for additional security thousands of non-active numbers into the database mixed up with the encrypted active numbers.

No, to ensure you don’t fall victim to SIM jacking crimes. this method involves taking control of your mobile number and is used to bypass two-factor authentication, any account connected to your phone number is at risk. Commonly, once your number has been SIM swapped, the hacker may attempt to use it to change the passwords of your accounts, and gain access to anything from your email, to your bank account, and cryptocurrency trading apps.
